Saturday (yesterday)
I decided that we needed a small outing as a family of four before we become a family of five (six when Amaya comes to visit.)
We chose to go to Blue Spring Caverns for a boat ride through the cave. I have been two times in the past so I knew that my guys would really enjoy it. And I wouldn't have to walk much... saving energy for all of the cleaning that I can't seem to stop doing.
We started our little adventure here, in the gift shop.
Then down to the cave we went.
Someone began whining at the entrance to the cave. It never even crossed my mind that Sawyer would be afraid. I thought as long as he was in his daddy's big arms he would be fine. Not true. He has all four molars coming through right now. Needless to say everything is bothering him.
Not to worry because ten minutes into the boat ride he was asleep on his chest for the rest of the time. He slept through very loud cave thunder made when the guide smacked the boat with a cushion so we could hear the echo and the boat hitting up against the walls of the cave as we made it around corners and coves.
We all really enjoyed ourselves. We got to hear complete silence and see what it is like to be surrounded in darkness so dark that they say your eyes will never adjust to it. The water gets 18 feet deep in some areas. The mud (they refer to as peanut butter mud) is like quick sand. Standing on it is not really possible. That is when I started to feel a little uneasy and my mind kicked into protection mode.... what would we do if something terrible happened? Oh Jen... you are so pregnant! Severally pregnant!
We made it out safely!
Even survived the steep walk back up to the top.
On secure ground again, I thought to myself... I must be one of the most blessed moms out there! Just look at these two!
And then you add this man to the picture? Perfect! I am thankful everyday of my life. What will these moments look like when there is one more face smiling at this camera? Almost ready. It won't be long and we will see.
